About Us
Background
Makers of Dance Energy was established in 1999 to overcome the formalities that can be associated with traditional dance schools. 22 excited but slightly nervous students started strutting their funky stuff through dance. Years later, 5 schools, 6 teachers and over 350 pupils, Makers of Dance Energy continues to grow, develop and break barriers in the teaching of dance.
With the sayings “we don’t do leotards” and “use the other left foot” becoming normal in the lively classes. No exams and the focus firmly placed on fun, the school's stature for professionalism and quality means that our reputation precedes us.
Staff
The Makers of Dance Energy teachers and managers have many years of experience in dealing with students of all ages. Throughout the selection and training process teachers must be fully qualified and undertake enhanced CRB checks. At each school a member of staff is first aid trained and Makers of Dance Energy hold annual appraisals to ensure our high standard of teaching is maintained.
Structure
- We work in conjunction with the School term dates and generally break for half term.
- Summer Schools are optional, open to anyone and are held during the School holidays.
- Each term is driven by a dance syllabus and themed focus, providing students with constructive feedback.

Our competition Troupe have won titles and represented Wales on a number of occasions in competitions from Festival 4 the Stars to The World Hip Hop Championships in Germany.
